Hi,
I have a problem with Apache 2.0.
I have applied all the current updates through RHN to the server
with the exception of the kernel updates which I can't update due to
hardware issues.
Over the weekend the apache stopped working and it wouldn't
restart, the error that I was getting is the following:
[Mon May 09 10:01:02 2005] [crit] (28)No space left on device: mod_rewrite:
could not create rewrite_log_lock
Configuration Failed!
[Mon May 09 10:38:16 2005] [crit] (28)No space left on device: mod_rewrite:
could not create rewrite_log_lock
Configuration Failed!

[Mon May 09 10:40:23 2005] [crit] (28)No space left on device: mod_rewrite:
could not create rewrite_log_lock
Configuration Failed!
[Mon May 09 10:41:11 2005] [crit] (28)No space left on device: mod_rewrite:
could not create rewrite_log_lock
Configuration Failed!
[Mon May 09 10:41:16 2005] [crit] (28)No space left on device: mod_rewrite:
could not create rewrite_log_lock
I checked the devices and there was space available. This is a
problem with the semaphores, but I couldn't figure it out.
I was forced to do an emergency reboot of the server to get
apache to start again.
I have couple of questions:
What is causing this problem?
And how do you resolve it?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
