Hi,

Installing Oracle on Linux is not that easy compared to Windows.Yoy get a lot of errors and some file editing is required.

Try giving this if $export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.19 if $export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1 did not work.

  So,Please refer http://www.puschitz.com/InstallingOracle9i.shtml

I am running Linux Enterprise AS version 3.0 update 6 on a HP ML570 Generation 3 x86_64, I tried installing Oracle 9i Database Release 2 (9.2.0.4.0) but /mnt/cdrom/runInstaller returned the error below and I could not begin oracle setup. What could be wrong?

  Initializing Java Virtual Machine from
  /tmp/OraInstall2006-01-06_07-01-59PM/jre/bin/java. Please wait...
Error occurred during initialization of VM Unable to load native library:
/tmp/OraInstall2006-01-06_07-01-59PM/jre/lib/i386/libjava.so: symbol __libc_wait, version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference

I have tried running c before installation but still it did not work.

  Regards,
  Nick.
