[rhn-users] behavior of RHN subscription service

On one of our servers, I turned off the subscription service to RHN 
because we were having an issue with hundreds (literally) of 
CLOSE_WAIT's pointing to a RedHat ip address.  We didn't know if the 
subscription service had anything to do with - it was just a guess.

So, I'm wondering if that *could* have been the cause of what we were 
seeing.  And I'm also wondering if having the service deactivated will 
cause any problems that we aren't experienced enough to realize yet.
