Don't know. On Red Hat rpm-build is a sub-package of rpm src.rpm, so Caldera may
well use another approach and put all in one rpm.

However, I've an old Caldera1.3 box, where, with some patience I rebuilt RedHat
3.0.5-9.6x src.rpm and it's working fine.

So you can try both.

Moreover, the rpm-build in rpm-3.0.5 does not seem to be strictly needed unless
you build perl packages or something weird.
