0.12.1 installed in /usr/local, but I get the following error when I get to popt:

creating libpopt.la
(cd .libs && rm -f libpopt.la && ln -s ../libpopt.la libpopt.la)
/bin/sh ./libtool --mode=link /usr/local/bin/gcc -g -O2 -L/usr/local/lib -o test1 -all-static test1.o libpopt.la /usr/local/bin/gcc -g -O2 -o test1 -static test1.o -L/usr/local/lib ./.libs/libpopt.a
/usr/ccs/bin/ld: Unsatisfied symbols:
libintl_dgettext (first referenced in ./.libs/libpopt.a(popt.o)) (code)
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [test1] Error 1

Which I configure popt with --disable-nls, the problem goes away. If I configure popt with --with-included-gettext, the problem goes away. Is there some sort of issue with gettext 0.12.1?

Sincerely,
Dano Carroll

I 'm facing the same problem. I 've uninstalled version 0.12 and replaced by
0.11.5 with exactly the same results.

All I know is that the function is there:

dstcuep6# cd /usr/local/lib
dstcuep6# grep -l libintl_dgettext *
libintl.a
libintl.sl

this doesnt mean that the function resides in that library.
i.e.: if I grep `mknod' in libc.so.6 I'll get a match because
there is a reference to that function. but the function actualy
resides in libc_nonshared.a.

Although this has nothing to do with popt, It may be helpfull
in your "stub search".

Cheers,
