rpm (4.0.4) database corruption / segmentation faults

Folks -

The other day I was running several rpm instances at the same time
(which may not have been a great idea) and accidentally killed one of
them. This destroyed my rpm database and I haven't been able to repair
it. I looked around for answers but haven't been able to find a
solution.

I've tried "rpm --initdb" after I couldn't get "rpm --rebuilddb" to
succeed. No luck anywhere. I haven't used gdb or strace as they are
not installed on the machine, but will if you guys can't help.

Here is the tail output of "rpm -vv --rebuilddb" (rpm 4.0.4, rh7.3).
