That script is intended for use with CentOS. If you are using
spacewalk with Redhat Enterprise Linux then you need the clone-errata
script pointers to which can be found in the list archives.  

Anyway, assuming you are using CentOS, version 0.2 of the
centos-errata script can search spacewalk for the packages in the
errata. It still needs a directory where it will try and look for RPM
files if the spacewalk search fails. However, that directory needn't
contain any files! To only look for stuff in spacewalk, just point
package_dir for each of the arches you are syncing to an empty
directory.
