hi greg,

as i understand it, the file you need to look at (on the clients) is:

/etc/yum/pluginconf.d/rhnplugin.conf

in here, you can put your per channel customisations, for that client,
in the same way as you would for a yum repository, e.g.:

That'll lock it, but it'll still show as in need of update on the webui won't
it?

apologies, forgot to mention this. you are correct - if a package is excluded on a client, it will still show on the webui as an available update.

i don't know if there is a way to stop this, i.e. get the webui to take in to account client exclusions (i couldn't find anything), or even if it is better this way, so that it is quite apparent when an update has been witheld.

thanks,

richard
