Hi,

I've the same problem.

Didi you have installed rhn-client-tools, rhncfg-* in your %packages kickstart section ?

When you regsiter a new host, spacewalk try to install rhn client packages, and if they are already present on your system, registration crash on 500 internal error because the install transaction is empty.

Your system is registered in spacewalk server, but scheduled actions - like packages installation which has caused the crash, and config deployment if you have selected to do it automaticaly on registration for your activation key - are not executed and stay as pending actions.

This not append if you don't have already installed all spacewalk client packages.

Regards.

Understood,

to progress this, I've cleaned down the logs, restarted the server and attatched the logs from a clean boot. the error_log clearly shows a problem, seems reasonably serious to create a back trace.

I've also attatched the logs (zero'd again) for building the client machine, that seems to register it's self but hang / not complete the two actions post install of "activation key package auto-install" and "activation key config file deployment"

There is little of any use in my view in them, the key error is the one at start up.

As normal, advice and suggestion is most welcome.

In the mean time I'll also try to pick this up with an IRC user who believes he's found this problem before and a resolution on the mail list.

Matt
