Typically a case of firewall issues:

when starting osad, rhn_check is executed once on the client (or
something alike) and so the spacewalk server sees activity from that
client and updates the "last checkin".
Either for osad to work, tcp port 5269 from the spacewalk server to the
client needs to be open.
