Hello Pietro,

actually I am updating 2 servers running SLES11 SP2 via Spacewalk. I am also new to spacewalk, but I've done some testing with Centos6 and SLES11 SP2 servers :)

I am using spacewalk 1.8.

See: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/systemsmanagement:/spacewalk:/1.8/SLE_11_SP2/

I am not sure if it works for any other version than SLES11 SP2.

I've added the following repositories/channels, where user and pw are your mirror credentials for using the channels below. You can find them if you login to your account at http://www.novell.com/center (My Products/Mirror Credentials)

SLES11-SP2-Novel (Parent Channel)
https://user:pw@nu.novell.com/repo/%24RCE/SLES11-SP2-Core/sle-11-x86_64/

Child Channels:
SLES11-SP2-Updates-Novel
https://user:pw@nu.novell.com/repo/%24RCE/SLES11-SP2-Updates/sle-11-x86_64/
SLES11-SDK-SP2-Novel
https://user:pw@nu.novell.com/repo/%24RCE/SLE11-SDK-SP2-Core/sle-11-x86_64
SLES11-SDK-SP2-Updates-Novel
https://user:pw@nu.novell.com/repo/%24RCE/SLE11-SDK-SP2-Updates/sle-11-x86_64/
Spacewalk-1.8
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/systemsmanagement:/spacewalk:/1.8/SLE_11_SP2/

After installing the following packages I could register my sles11 sp2 server to spacewalk:

newt pyhton-newt libnewt zypp-plugin-python rhnlib rhn-client-tools zypp-plugin-spacewalk rhnsd rhn-setup rhn-check

You may need additional packages (like rhncfg rhncfg-actions rhncfg-client) if you like to use remote commands...

Greetings, Sabine

Hallo, I do not find any documentation for using spacewalk for updating
Novel SLES servers. Several HowTos talk about OpenSuSE, but no info
about SLES. Have someone any suggestion?

Thanks, Pietro.
