Thank you for pointing me another file to check.
That log file mentioned a new directory being created:
/Creating crash directory:
/repo/spacewalk/systems/1/1000010012/crashes/ccpp-1317126723-2414)/
The creation of that dir failed however because the apache user has no
rights on /repo/spacewalk/. (no mention of the failure in that log
though, it just stops after that line) I have my repo and other
spacewalk data in a non-default location so I don't know if that had
anything to do with it.
Creating the base "systems" dir there and granting apache user rights on
that dir did the trick.
