Both were set to the short hostname. I changed them to the FQDN and restarted spacewalk but no change whatsoever sadly.

Subject: Re: [Spacewalk-list] Jabber fails to start
Hi,
I'm working with VIP's and i always have this error when my vip isn't specified.
Maybe check /etc/rhn/rhn.conf, look for osa-dispatcher.jabber_server= & server.jabber_server=
One day, i had a similar error, but everythin was set properly. I reinstalled spacewalk (keeping all /var/satellite content, it worked but it was last resort)
Hope it helps,
Alvin

Objet: [Spacewalk-list] Jabber fails to start
Hi,
I am having issues with my Spacewalk 2.1 installation where jabber is failing to start properly.
After restarting jabber all services appear to start, but then seconds later their status will be:
[root at svhm-spacewalk pub]# service jabberd status
router (pid 31451) is running...
sm dead but subsys locked
c2s dead but subsys locked
s2s (pid 31472) is running...
And this causes:
Starting osa-dispatcher: Spacewalk 31735 2014/08/06 13:46:39 +11:00: ('Error connecting to jabber server: Unable to connect to the host and port specified',)
I have deleted the /etc/jabberd/db/ contents, verified the id’s in the jabber xml files are all FQDN
/etc/hosts:
10.3.6.128 svhm-spacewalk.svhm.schs.org.au svhm-spacewalk
Recreated the server SSL cert
Still no joy.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
