Veeram, about your questions, about OS, I really don't know, about emails,
by default of SW you don't have any place to configure it, but you can
create tasks using spacecmd or api, so you will create a script for
example, and check if you have any schedule, case yes, you send a email
alert.

You can do everything in SW! Feel free! ;-)
