...working...Generating private CA key: /root/ssl-build/RHN-ORG-PRIVATE-SSL-KEY
Rotated: RHN-ORG-PRIVATE-SSL-KEY --> RHN-ORG-PRIVATE-SSL-KEY.1
Rotated: rhn-ca-openssl.cnf --> rhn-ca-openssl.cnf.1

    --set-city         = "Perth"
    --set-org          = "ASG Group"
    --set-org-unit     = "pervyum050 "
    --set-common-name  = "pervyum050 "

Rotated: RHN-ORG-TRUSTED-SSL-CERT --> RHN-ORG-TRUSTED-SSL-CERT.1

Generating CA public certificate RPM:
    /root/ssl-build/rhn-org-trusted-ssl-cert-1.0-15.src.rpm
    /root/ssl-build/rhn-org-trusted-ssl-cert-1.0-15.noarch.rpm

Make the public CA certficate publically available:
    (NOTE: the Red Hat Satellite or Proxy installers may do this step for you.)
    The "noarch" RPM and raw CA certificate can be made publically accessible
    by copying it to the /var/www/html/pub directory of your Red Hat Satellite or
    Proxy server.

Generating the web server's SSL private key: /root/ssl-build/pervyum050.asggroup/server.key
Rotated: server.key --> server.key.1

Generating web server's SSL certificate request: /root/ssl-build/pervyum050.asggroup/server.csr
Using distinguished names:
    --set-country      = "AU"
    --set-state        = "WA"
    --set-city         = "Perth"
    --set-org          = "ASG Group"
    --set-org-unit     = "pervyum050 "
    --set-hostname     = "pervyum050 "
    --set-email        = "spacewalk at pervyum050"
Rotated: server.csr --> server.csr.1
Rotated: rhn-ca-openssl.cnf --> rhn-ca-openssl.cnf.1

Generating/signing web server's SSL certificate: server.crt
Rotated: server.crt --> server.crt.1

Generating web server's SSL key pair/set RPM:
    /root/ssl-build/pervyum050.asggroup/rhn-org-httpd-ssl-key-pair-pervyum050.asggroup-1.0-15.src.rpm
    /root/ssl-build/pervyum050.asggroup/rhn-org-httpd-ssl-key-pair-pervyum050.asggroup-1.0-15.noarch.rpm

The most current Spacewalk Proxy Server installation process against RHN hosted
requires the upload of an SSL tar archive that contains the CA SSL public
certificate and the web server's key set.

Generating the web server's SSL key set and CA SSL public certificate archive:
    /root/ssl-build/pervyum050.asggroup/rhn-org-httpd-ssl-archive-pervyum050.asggroup-1.0-15.tar

Deploy the server's SSL key pair/set RPM:
    (NOTE: the Red Hat Satellite or Proxy installers may do this step for you.)
    The "noarch" RPM needs to be deployed to the machine working as a
    web server, or Red Hat Satellite, or Spacewalk Proxy.
    Presumably 'pervyum050.asggroup.com.au'.

Not sure if that is connected with this installation attempt but it’s at the right time.

Brian, good morning

Sorry for a long delay ..., very busy.

You can check all files inside /var/log/rhn/* and /var/log/*

Check what log are changing during installation (ls -ltr) and use the command (tail -f <log file>) to check in real time what's happening.

Feel free to send us any "strange" output :-)

Take Care

Waldirio,

Thanks for your reply.

I am running RHEL 5.10. SELinux is disabled. IPtables is disabled.

Which log files do you suggest I check?

Cheers

Brian

Hello Brian, good morning

After your message I had installed maybe 3 times SW and without problem, have you tried again ?! The problem persist if you re-install your env ?!

My recommendation (same in the first message) is check the log files in your SW server, your problem is like, the installation is waiting something, but it's not showed in the default output, btw you can check this is logs and probably you will find.

Maybe one repo mistake in repo ..., what is the OS that you are installing ?! OS Version ?! Have you disabled the SElinux ?!

Send us more info and we can try help you, but if you didn't tried re-install, this is my first recommendation, maybe one simple detail will appear in the next time. ;-)

Take Care

I originally posted this back before Christmas but it seemed to go nowhere (like my installation). Is there anybody who can help, please?

I am attempting to install spacewalk but have encountered a problem.

I get to the point where the installation program, when using postgresql attempts to restart xinetd and tftpd services. All it does is hang, printing a series of little symbols on the screen continuously. I've let it running for four days and it still didn't go anyway.

The screen dump is:
