Since you asked “Any ideas?” I have a few troubleshooting suggestions:
Connectivity layer:
Did the install/restart of services reset/reenabled an incomplete iptables
configuration?
Have you attempted to connect to the TFTP service via other systems?
If the source or target has more than one NIC, is the service on the proper
NIC/all NICs?
Any miswritten rinetd rules for port redirection?
Permissions/Authentication:
Is it somehow waiting for a password/login/authentication or being part of
some approved list to communicate?
TFTP does like to know the MAC addresses of the devices it is allowed to
chat with.
All too often, I’ve seen garbage strings mean the rough equivalent of
“Unable to connect, retrying.”

have you checked if TFTP has been enabled? My install took ~10mins to get
past that, no idea why im guessing the server was in a bad mood at the
time.

Sorry for a long delay ..., very busy.
You can check all files inside /var/log/rhn/* and /var/log/*
Check what log are changing during installation (ls -ltr) and use the
command (tail -f <log file>) to check in real time what's happening.
Feel free to send us any "strange" output :-)

Hello Brian, good morning
After your message I had installed maybe 3 times SW and without problem,
have you tried again ?! The problem persist if you re-install your env ?!
My recommendation (same in the first message) is check the log files in
your SW server, your problem is like, the installation is waiting
something, but it's not showed in the default output, btw you can check
this is logs and probably you will find.
Maybe one repo mistake in repo ..., what is the OS that you are installing
?! OS Version ?! Have you disabled the SElinux ?!
Send us more info and we can try help you, but if you didn't tried
re-install, this is my first recommendation, maybe one simple detail will
appear in the next time. ;-)

I am attempting to install spacewalk but have encountered a problem.
I get to the point where the installation program, when using postgresql
attempts to restart xinetd and tftpd services. All it does is hang,
printing a series of little symbols on the screen continuously. I've let it
running for four days and it still didn't go anyway.
