Thanks for the replies. I did narrow down one bug which may have been causing this.

RHEL solution pointed me to the https in my server URL possibly causing the problem so I modified this to http and the issue was resolved. This was the solution url: https://access.redhat.com/solutions/373953

I think this server url gets populated during the regrhn_ks command? I was just using an example command from the spacewalk instructions.

Also, a lot of issues with my installation due to the server not having the FQDN as the hostname, so it seems. This gave me a bit of trouble with the osa-dispatcher.

Yup sometimes it hangs when doing the repodata, you can try
rm -rf /var/cache/rhn/repodata/centos_6_whatever
softwarechannel_regenerateyumcache centos_6_whatever
yum update
failing that
spacewalk-service restart

After a sync a repodata job executes this generates the repomd file. Sometimes I've seen the repodata job hang if that's the case you can fix it by restarting taskoomatic.
Worse comes to worst you may need to delete the repodata files off the spacewalks server then resync the repo this will force it to regenerate the file from scratch.

Hello,
After registering a client, I get the following error:
Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: centos6-x86_64. Please verify its path and try again

This error occurs curing a yum search and during rhn_check –vv

I did complete a sync however a few of the packages failed, so I’m running it again. Does the repo need to be 100% synced before repomd.xml exists?

Thanks
William
