[Spacewalk-list] CentOS 7 install missing RHN utilities - Spacewalk 2.4

I do see the packages at the end of the %packages section… and I do have a child channel with those packages included in the activation key for the kickstart profile… though it’s not specifically suffixed with “-client” … so I’m not sure what I’m missing at this point, I guess.

Thanks!

Just did a KS off 2.4. These pkgs are installed on my system (were with 2.3 as well).

Do you see the missing packages at the end of %packages in the 'Kickstart File' section? And you have the -client child channel enabled for that profile?

Hi Folks,

I had this problem under Spacewalk 2.3 and was hoping it was fixed in 2.4 …

The kickstart profile has a built-in post-install script/action called:

“Registration and server actions”

… which includes adding SSL/GPG keys… downloading some specific RHN packages via perma-links and installing them… then issuing registration actions using “rhnreg_ks” and “rhn_check” …

Well… these binaries aren’t in the packages that are downloaded via this built-in … which downloads only:

libxml2
rhnlib
pyOpenSSL
libxml2-python

… when it also needs to be grabbing…

rhn-setup
rhn-client-tools
rhn-check

… I’ve tried to overcome this using a separate post-install script that fires earlier in the sequence… but, I can’t figure out how to make the permalinks that are used in this script/action … nor can I figure out where this “Registration and server actions” script is located… so I can fix it.

Can someone clue me in on how to do either one or the other?

Thanks!
