[Spacewalk-list] Inactive Systems

I think that I figured out what is wrong, I just need to figure out how to resolve it.

Last November, I upgraded the SW server to v2.6, and a few months ago, I changed jabberd to use the Postgres DB. However, the proxy server is still on v2.4 (I forgot all about upgrading it when I did the primary server).

I started reviewing the jabberd config files, c2s.xml, s2s.xml and sm.xml and noticed that the current config files are significatly differnet from the dist files, plus they had the changes that I made when switching to the Postgres DB. My guess is that SW must have updated the config files when I made the changes a few months ago.

I copied the .dist files back to being the primary config file and changed the ID and password everywhere that I found the settings, but I'm still not able to connect.

Besides the server ID and DB password, is there anything else in the config file that I need to change? Do I need to upgrade to v2.6 and install Postgres on the proxy to make everything work?

Thanks

Daryl

Yes I did and I get:

service osad start
Starting osad: 2017-06-06 15:08:27 jabber_lib.main: Unable to connect to jabber servers, sleeping 101 seconds

Any thoughts?

Thank you.

Daryl

Did you rm the /etc/sysconfig/rhn/osad-auth.conf file and then restart jabberd?

Last week 218 systems became "Inactive Systems". All of these systems are in the DMZ and connect via a proxy server. I discovered that /var on the proxy had filled, and I'm guessing corrupted the Berkeley Database. I shutdown Jabberd, cleaned everything out, restarted jabberd, and tried to re-authenticate the inactive systems. However, I'm not able to get them to re-authenticate.

There are multiple errors in multiple error logs.

My inital thoughts turn to the certifiacation, but It that shouldn't be the case, because this has been working fine for over a year. As a matter of fact, I can see that the client estabilishes a connection on with the proxy server on port 5222.

Anyone have any thoughts on what could be causing this?

Thank you.

Daryl
