The guest has full ownership of the assigned device, you should be able
to use any outputs available and supported by the guest drivers.  When
we talk about "VGA assignment", it's in reference to the card supporting
VGA access mechanisms and ranges, not to the type of output spigot you
connect your monitor to.  Thanks,
