The host is 2x Xeon E5-2667V2 + 128GB RAM - obviously oversized for only two Windows ;-P . I'm considering choice between Radeon Fury Nano and more expensive nVidia. I know that Radeons have problem with PCIe reset (in kernel 4.1.15 + qemu 2.4.1), is this likely to have been solved in a newer version I am not using yet/not written yet?

For the price only "little" higher than Nano I can buy Quadro M4000 but Id rather have more performance. I wonder whether nVidia played silly games disabling its drivers under vfio with Titan X - that would be a very nice option. I do not want to spend more than $1300 per card.

Hi Bronek,

I haven't lucky enough to try passing through a Titan X to my guest VMs, but I had borrowed my friend's GTX 980 Ti and it worked flawlessly. Since GTX 980 Ti is a slimmed down version of Titan X, it should probably work as well.

My experience with AMD was only at R9 270X as my first GPU upgrade ever since my GeForce 4 MX back in my college year, :p and I picked AMD because at that time VGA passthrough seemed common on Xen only and Xen was not supporting NVIDIA card without hard modding it. As Alex had mentioned also, currently NVIDIA has less trouble than AMD.

Beside GTX 980 Ti, NVIDIA cards that I have successfully passed through so far are GTX 770, GTX 780, and GTX 980.

Best regards,
