Poor video display

Hi,
I'm having some difficulty figuring out an odd problem with my video
display. So far, the only time I've seen it is with the game 'tuxracer'.

'Tux' appears as a white/grey blob in the game, all other parts of the
display look fine. I'm using default values in the tuxracer config file,
and I've tried the latest rawhide version of tuxracer with the same
results. Other than the distorted 'tux' image, the game runs great and
the frame rate seems good.
I put up a screenshot at:
http://www.tuxfan.homeip.net:8080/tux.jpg

I don't play many games, (and to be honest, it was my son who discovered
this problem. ;) however, 'Chromium' runs fast and looks great.

System details are as follows:
Asus A7V266-E with an Athlon 1600+ (XP) and 512 MB DDR DRAM
ATI Radeon VE (64 MB DDR)

lspci reports the device as:
VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc: Unknown device 5144
(prog-if 00 [VGA])

glxinfo reports:
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Radeon 20010402 AGP 4x x86/MMX/3DNow!

Running Red Hat Linux 7.2 (Clean install)
kernel-2.4.9-13 (Athlon) (Same results with the i686 kernel)
XFree86-4.1.0-3

This obviously isn't a pressing issue, but now that I know about it, I'm
somewhat determined to figure it out.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks,
- -D
