Description of problem:
A user can change editor options without noticing that there is a save button
at the bottom of the tab, which can prevent them getting the benefit of
persisted editor options. More users would benefit from having editor options
automatically persisted than from requiring a manual save process.

Editor options are not persisted unless user explicitly presses "Save"

Expected results:
Editor options are persisted as soon as they are set
