            Bug ID: 1081328
Summary: Garbage collection stopping the application for a long
                    period of time
           Product: Zanata
           Version: 3.3
         Component: Performance
          Assignee: djansen at redhat.com
          Reporter: camunoz at redhat.com
        QA Contact: zanata-qa at redhat.com
                CC: zanata-bugs at redhat.com

Description of problem:
There is a periodical application full stop while the jvm performs a full
garbage collection. Last time this happened, the period's length was of around
12-15 minutes.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
3.3

How reproducible:
Periodically, as memory use grows.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Regular, everyday use of Zanata causes this to eventually happen.

Actual results:
A full garbage collection takes a very long time to complete, stopping the
application while it's happening.

Expected results:
Garbage collection should be able to keep memory in check and avoid these
applications stops.

Additional info:
We suspect the use of soft references, particularly where guava's CacheBuilder
is being used, may be related to this issue.
