In Red Hat’s booth at Mobile World Congress 2018, Feb. 26 – Mar. 1, in Barcelona, a variety of ecosystem partners will showcase technology innovations for communication service providers (CSPs). We’ll be hosting demos from partners including Affirmed Networks, Cisco, Netsia, Nuage Networks, and Tech Mahindra. Stop by our booth, 2G40 in Hall 2, in the conference center, to experience these exciting demos in person, and keep reading for a preview of what some of the demos will highlight.
Nuage Networks and Red Hat are jointly demonstrating how operators are building SD-WAN solutions that can help automate the delivery of WAN services, provide flexibility in access technologies and provide ubiquitous access to SaaS, private and public cloud workloads.
Cisco will showcase Cisco NSO, which offers a single, transaction-safe application programming interface (API) to your hybrid and multi-vendor network that is driven by YANG models for network devices and services. This demo will cover how NSO and Red Hat Ansible Automation can work together to provide a unified solution. The demo will dig deep into the requirements for useful network abstraction and how this allows Ansible to manage the whole network in lockstep with other applications under management.
Netsia’s RAN slicing solution, called ProgRAN, defines the RAN resources as time-frequency-space resource blocks for each RAN node. ProgRAN dynamically creates RAN slices and programmatically invokes use-case specific optimization for each slice. The ProgRAN architecture enables a private LTE network solution that is programmatic in nature in terms of real-time orchestration and management of user group-specific rules and enterprise-specific network access control. Netsia has developed a private LTE solution for the healthcare industry that allows differentiated access to staff, patients, and visitors as well as medical IoT devices. The capacities allocated to the user groups can be dynamically adjusted according to the hospital’s emergency status.
Affirmed Networks will showcase its 5G Mobile Core with a focus on network slicing, which enables operators to configure virtual network instances, optimized for a specific customer or service, more quickly. This demo will cover how Affirmed’s virtual Service Steering Function (vSSF) can be combined with other Affirmed innovations, such as the Affirmed Service Automation Platform, to rapidly deploy, monitor, and fine-tune network slices for a variety of different use cases, including operational sandboxing and service provisioning.
Tech Mahindra will showcase a solution, developed in Tech Mahindra’s VNF-Xchange, to accelerate service provisioning and orchestration across multi-vendor virtual network functions (VNFs) running on Red Hat OpenStack Platform. Think about the time a CSP’s network operations team spends defining and provisioning new services, configuring elements, managing updates and testing new services. Now imagine being able to automate those processes to save weeks from your production cycle. Tech Mahindra, Affirmed Networks and Red Hat, have collaborated to create an integrated solution for VNF orchestration and service automation.
