At its annual summit last week Red Hat announced the winners of the ninth annual Red Hat Innovation Awards. The awards honor Red Hat customers, partners and communities for their outstanding and innovative use of Red Hat solutions.
Winner of the Modernize category is telecommunications and IT provider CBTS. Other winners included American Product Distributors, Inc., Avianca Holdings, CA Technologies, Cisco IT and FICO, and Avianca was crowned the overall Red Hat Innovator of the Year.
CBTS is one of the first independent telephony companies, and is now a global communications and IT solutions provider offering SIP/IP trunking services, unified communications, video conferencing and other services.
CBTS received their Modernize award for using Red Hat CloudForms to automate and streamline customer support processes and standardize managed services offerings to support hundreds of customer accounts. The award recognizes CBTS’ outstanding transition from an aging, proprietary infrastructure and restrictive vendors to standardized, open source solutions. Red Hat’s solution helped CBTS increase efficiency 65 percent, speed up time to market by 200 percent, and accelerate sales cycles by 100 percent (and you can read more about CBTS’ use of Red Hat solutions in this paper.
