Red Hat showcases NFV, IoT, mobile app dev and more at Mobile World Congress.

At next week’s Mobile World Congress 2017, Red Hat will be showcasing six demonstrations at our booth, 2G30 in Hall 2. The demos all showcase Red Hat’s commitment to advance innovation in open source and the information and communications technologies (ICT) industry, and cover a variety of topics important to today’s communications service providers.

Stop by our booth (2G30 in Hall 2) and check out these demos:

Network functions virtualization (NFV)

Highlights how easy is to prototype a complete scenario for virtual Customer Premises Equipment (vCPE) solutions using Ansible and CloudForms.

We’ll also be demonstrating the effect of the Enhanced Platform Awareness (EPA) features on a virtualized Evolved Packet Core (vEPC) under congestion.

Red Hat Services

Red Hat Services will be offering a digital use-case-based assessment geared toward measuring maturity in key Dev and Ops focus areas, and offering solutions for improvement opportunities. You’ll have the chance to speak one-on-one with members of Red Hat’s EMEA architect team to address specific challenges and pain points and begin to understand different paths to overcome what’s getting in your way.

Internet of Things (IoT)

For IoT, we will be showing an asset-tracking application that tracks high-value cargo in a delivery truck and demonstrates data collection from a set of sensors via an intelligent gateway that provides reliable data delivery and real-time edge decision-making.

Red Hat Mobile

Join us for a live demo of our Red Hat Mobile Application Platform showing how we can build, deploy and manage a wide range of secure enterprise mobile applications in an efficient, reusable and agile way.

We will be sharing videos on OpenStack Storage and Object Storage along with information covering Red Hat Storage for modern workloads.

Packet acceleration on ARM servers

This demo will take you through the typical data path and explain how to take advantage of packet offloading on ARM server platform using OpenStack.

In addition to the demos, our experts will be on hand to talk about our latest news on Red Hat’s plans with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and OpenStack. HPE plans to offer ready-to-use, pre-integrated HPE NFV System solutions and HPE Validated Configurations incorporating Red Hat OpenStack Platform and Red Hat Ceph Storage for communications service providers (CSPs), expanding options for network transformation and modernization. This expanded collaboration also enables Red Hat to make use of HPE OpenNFV Labs for virtual network function (VNF) validation and for Red Hat OpenStack Platform customers to access HPE VNF Onboarding Services.

Last but certainly not least, be sure to catch Tim Yeaton, Red Hat’s senior VP, infrastructure business, who is speaking on an NFV panel on Tuesday, February 28 from 3:30 – 4:40 p.m. in Hall 4, Auditorium 3. And keep your ears open for some Red Hat customer announcements coming on Monday! We have lots of exciting news to share as we kick off Mobile World Congress 2017. We look forward to seeing you in Barcelona!
