Next week, tens of thousands of people, from dozens of countries, will gather at Futurecom 2017 in São Paulo, Brazil, for what’s been billed as the largest and most qualified information and communications technology (ICT) event in Latin America. Red Hat will be there – as a sponsor, with a booth, and as speakers. The show will run Oct. 2-5 at the Transamerica Expo Center and will cover everything from digital transformation and IoT to artificial intelligence and customer experience.
Red Hat solution architect manager Boris Kuszka will present a keynote: Infrastructure defined by Software – The Next Architecture of Telecommunications Networks. Kuszka, who leads the Red Hat Brazil pre-sales team of experts in cloud computing, DevOps and middleware solutions, will talk about how the telecommunications industry is taking advantage of software-defined infrastructure technologies to reduce costs, increase agility and improve flexibility to better meet market demands. The keynote will delve into software-defined storage, software-defined networks (SDNs) and network function virtualization (NFV), and OpenStacks role in advancing these technologies. Kuszka’s keynote is on Oct. 4, 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., in Room Chile at the expo center.
Red Hat’s Edson Stein, senior account manager of strategic accounts, telecommunications industry, will join several others on a panel: SDN, NFV and Orchestration: Strategy, Challenges and Opportunities considering Legacy Networks. The panel will be moderated by Wagner Ferreira, a director with Conecta Planejamento e Serviços Ltda. and consultant for strategic planning and sales, and will also feature executives including Fábio Hashimoto, technology director with Logicalis; Hector Silva, CTO and strategic sales leader for the Caribbean and Latin America region for Ciena; Jonas Santiago de Oliveira, director of OSS sales and architecture for Latin America at Amdocs Ltd.; Lucas Vanagas, director of the Latin American technical sales and engineering team at Coriant; Márcio Zara, sales director of SDN/NFV at NetCracker; Marco Di Constanzo, director of mobile network, TIM Brazil, and responsible for the innovation, development and operation of the company’s network infrastructure; Mauro Fukuda, director of technology and platforms at South American telecommunications company Oi; and Paulo Bernardocki, CTO with Ericsson.
