We're very proud to announce that Red Hat has been recognized by the Triangle Business Journal as one of the recipients of the publication's 2015 Leaders in Diversity Award. The award recognizes businesses, individuals, and non-profits in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina that have “demonstrated respect for inclusive treatment of others, advocacy for underrepresented groups and multicultural marketing.” Red Hat received one of the Company Awards, which honor businesses that have shown a commitment to the aforementioned ideals.

Red Hat has been very open about its dedication to promoting diversity. One example of this is the company's sponsorship of the Women in Open Source Awards, which honor women who have made significant contributions to the open source software community. Another is the Women's Leadership Community, which provides a forum at Red Hat for networking, the sharing of ideas, and more. The company also sponsors several external initiatives, such as The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Conference and the GNOME Outreach Program.

More about our commitment to diversity can be found in this post on Red Hat's approach to diversity. Written by executive vice president and chief people officer DeLisa Alexander, “Diversity and Our Business” outlines how Red Hat constantly strives for diversity and innovation.

This drive is the reason why Red Hat was recognized by Triangle Business Journal. It's an honor that we're immensely proud of, and one that we're looking forward to sharing with other winners during a special awards luncheon to be held September 10, 2015, at 11:30 a.m. at the Raleigh Marriott City Center.
