For the second year in a row, Fortune has named Red Hat to its list of the Most Admired Companies.

This week, Red Hat announced the general availability of Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Appplication Platform (EAP) 7.2. With this release, Red Hat is continuing our commitment to Java EE 8 and Jakarta EE, the new home for cloud-native Java, a community-driven specification under the Eclipse Foundation.

Mainstream adoption of containers among enterprise IT organizations is still in its early days. A recent survey of 400 customers conducted by Red Hat finds that reliance on containers is expected to increase by an astounding 89 percent over the next two years.

It's a tough call on Ansible vs. Puppet. With software quality in mind, Ansible wins. It harnesses the discrete organizations and individuals across that whole activity range and provides a central software quality approach.

The computation capabilities and scale of supercomputers have grown and are expected to continue growing. Red Hat's Yan Fisher and Russ Doty recently attended SC18, the leading supercomputing conference, and have several takeaways on what the future looks like for high performance computing (HPC).
