Red Hat is committed to helping enterprises improve the way they innovate and compete by providing security, functionality, and manageability across the board in our solutions. Today, we’re pleased to share that we are extending and reinforcing that commitment with the announcement of Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) 6.2 and Red Hat JBoss Operations Network 3.2.

The new releases of these products bring additional enhancements to the security and manageability of Red Hat JBoss Middleware managed offerings—and the applications developed, integrated and deployed with them. Together, JBoss EAP and JBoss Operations Network provide customers with a managed application platform that delivers security, performance, and stability for mission-critical applications. This commitment is one of the reasons why many of our customers have chosen Red Hat JBoss Middleware as their application foundation.

JBoss EAP 6.2 provides enhanced tools and features that enable developers to quickly get mission-critical applications to market. Once deployed, JBoss Operations Network 3.2 provides administrators with greater insight into the operation of deployed applications, and alerts of potential issues.

Security is important for any organization that manages private data. Just as we’ve done with prior versions of JBoss EAP and other Red Hat offerings, we are in evaluation for Common Criteria certification for JBoss EAP 6.2. Common Criteria is an internationally recognized set of standards used by organizations to assess the security of technology products. JBoss EAP 6.2 is being evaluated for certification at the highest level for commercial software of its kind.

Certifications like Common Criteria not only enable Red Hat to pass the assurance of security along to our customers, but it also enables them to reassure their own clients with security-sensitive environments that solutions like JBoss EAP 6.2 can meet or exceed their security requirements.

JBoss EAP is designed to help enterprises build, run, and manage applications, whether on premise or in the cloud. JBoss Operations Network is a key component of Red Hat’s managed offerings and provides centralized, enterprise-grade management and monitoring capabilities across an enterprise’s Red Hat JBoss Middleware development, test and production environments. When deployed with JBoss EAP, JBoss Operations Network provides significant productivity gains and more real-time visibility into the health of managed resources. With this release, full support of REST (representational state transfer) APIs (application programming interfaces) has been added to simplify development.

We strive to continually provide our customers with products that improve the user experience, lower cost, and improve developer productivity and operations management.
