The Red Hat Summit and JBoss World team presented a preview into this year’s events during a one-hour Red Hat Summit and JBoss World in a Glimpse webinar offering. Four Red Hat presenters, including Red Hat’s global events strategy manager, JBoss product line director and two product marketing directors, detailed why customers, partners and community members attend the event, described the typical attendee and outlined highlights of the events from recurring session topics to the many networking opportunities.

Some interesting highlights from the webinar:

There are several new Red Hat Summit and JBoss World features this year, including:

  • A track devoted entirely to cloud computing
  • A cloud pavilion where various sponsors will share how they’re playing in the cloud
  • On-site Red Hat Training opportunities
  • Three new technical-focused tracks
  • Session technical ratings to help attendees better navigate the event

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 is among the hot topics, with a strong Red Hat Enterprise Linux booth presence and a dedicated campground organized and attended by Tim Burke, Red Hat's vice president of Platform Engineering.

Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization is also among the event foci with nine sessions heavily focused on it, including a lab delivered by the product’s senior marketing manager.

JBoss Enterprise Portal Platform is among the middleware hot topics at JBoss World and will be featured in Portals, Presentation, Open Choice, & You where attendees will have the opportunity to meet the product management and developer team members responsible for the product.

Attendees can sign up for campgrounds, where they can deliver informal sessions, today.

Several Red Hat customers, including Whole Foods Market, DreamWorks, and MasterCard, will break down how Red Hat solutions benefited their companies.
