If you thought day one was fun, just wait until you see what’s on the agenda for day two of Red Hat Summit 2019. We have not one, but two fantastic general sessions on the schedule, as well as a full day of breakouts, instructor-led labs, Open Source Stories, and puppies.

Schedule at a Glance

Registration for Red Hat Summit continues Wednesday morning at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC) at 7 a.m., as does breakfast. (A bit earlier on Wednesday to accommodate our general session starting at 8:30 a.m.)

Mealtimes and general session times are listed in this table, for specific times of labs, breakouts and other sessions, see the session catalog.

Day two schedule table

General sessions

Wednesday morning’s general session is something you’re not going to want to miss. We have Paul Cormier, executive vice president and president, Products and Technologies on stage, and Burr Sutter - director of Developer Experience at Red Hat (and master of demos). If you want to know more about where Red Hat’s products are going, you should definitely add this to your agenda.

In the afternoon general session we’re going beyond the code to look into what it takes to support all this open source. Join us at 3 p.m. to hear from Red Hat’s DeLisa Alexander, executive vice president and chief people officer; Tim Yeaton, executive vice president and chief marketing officer and Leigh Day, vice president, Marketing Communications.

Once again, we’re bringing Open Source Stories Live to the mainstage at Summit, too. You’ll also hear from speakers from MIT, farmOS and the Baltimore Department of General Services.

Red Hat Women’s Leadership Community Luncheon

From 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. you can join Red Hat associates, customers, partners, and open source contributors for a presentation that will celebrate the contributions women make to technology. All are welcome!

Puppy pen - Expand your PAWsabilities

Great Dog Rescue New England is bringing a little fuzzy fun to Red Hat Summit this year. The rescue will be at Summit from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Expo Hall across from Demo Village, and you can stop by and pet the pups for a little mid-day relaxation. If you meet the dog of your dreams, the canine companions are adoptable.

Cool Stuff Store

Not quite ready to take home a new furry friend, or already stocked up? How about some new threads? You may have heard, we’ve gotten a new look. If you want to get some gear with the new Red Hat logo, stop by the Cool Stuff Store in the BCEC. We’ll be offering hats, shirts, backpacks, and other fun and useful gear so you can stock up and show off the new look.

Innovators on the Line

You’ve heard a lot about our 2019 Red Hat Innovation Award winners and now you can hear directly from them, up close and personal. Step inside our interactive installation, pick up the phone, and listen to the lessons learned while building their ambitious projects.

Open Source Stories

Open Source Stories is Red Hat's multimedia brand journalism portfolio that celebrates the impact of open source on everyday lives. Come to booth #110 and work with a food computer, build your own circuitry card, learn more about our latest film premiere, and meet the next generation of open source.

Command Line Heroes

A fan of the Command Line Heroes podcast? You can visit the Command Line Heroes space in the BCEC east lobby, just across from theCube’s broadcast booth. Get a caricature, play open source video games, and talk to members of the podcast team live and in person.

Expo Hall

The Expo Hall fully staffed hours are 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, with a break for Wednesday’s general session at 1:30 p.m.

The Customer Success Zone is located at booth #445, stop by to chat with our services and support folks and find out about our consulting, training, certification, technical support, and more. And be sure to stop by the Red Hat Booth (#649), to discuss business challenges and get your questions answered at the “Ask Me Anything” space.

Community Central is a perennial favorite at Red Hat Summit. Find some of the upstream projects that are used in Red Hat’s products at booth #134, and learn how you might contribute. Projects appearing at Community Central include Fedora, CentOS, RDO, oVirt, Ansible, OKD, and a number of emerging communities.

Developers will want to make a beeline for our DevZone in the Expo Hall, located at Booth #124. Watch technical demos, ask questions, and find spaces dedicated to Red Hat CodeReady, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Red Hat Middleware, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Wednesday is full of things to do, see, and learn - but don’t go home just yet. We’ll be back Thursday to close out Red Hat Summit for the year so have a great Wednesday but be sure to pace yourself so you have enough gas in the tank for the week!
