Senior Vice President and General Manager, Global Strategic Alliances
David Farrell is Senior Vice President and General Manager for Global Strategic Alliances at Red Hat. He leads the company’s go-to-market (GTM) strategy for OEM partners, global systems integrators (GSIs), strategic alliance partners, cloud service providers (CSPs) and independent software vendors (ISVs). He also works closely with Red Hat’s services, software, and hardware partners to build mutually beneficial relationships with customers.
Prior to joining Red Hat, Farrell was General Manager of Red Hat Synergy for IBM, where he developed the GTM model and sales strategy for optimizing the Red Hat acquisition for clients. His team designed and executed a plan to grow Red Hat and IBM’s hybrid cloud business, deliver on the acquisition’s financial plan, and serve clients with a strong partner ecosystem.
Farrell has held several leadership positions at IBM throughout his career. He was General Manager of IBM Cloud’s Watson & Cloud Platform organization, managed the company’s North America and EMEA Cloud and Software businesses, and led several of its largest software brands, including WebSphere and Lotus. Prior to joining IBM, he led the international division at Enabling Technologies Group and held various roles at The Coca-Cola Company in Germany and as an aid to Sen. Sam Nunn in the U.S. Senate.
Farrell is a member of several nonprofit boards, including the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) Education Cooperative, the Latin American Association, and Mission Honduras.
