Enable Sysadmin celebrates one-year anniversary with Sudoers Program

What started as an idea in early 2019 has now blossomed into a publishing platform with a growing community with more than 100 writers. As we celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Enable Sysadmin publication, we’re excited to announce a new program for our community of writers.

On May 5, 2020, we officially launched the Sudoers program for the Enable Sysadmin community. The Sudoers program recognizes our most trusted and committed contributors and provides a framework for becoming an established writer on the site.

The editorial team has been working closely with 10 of our writers to help establish the first group of members in the Sudoer program. To date, this group of amazing sysadmins has collectively published more than 100 articles on the Enable Sysadmin publication.

And without further delay, I’d like to introduce you to the Sudoer members:

In addition to the Sudoer program, we also have our Run level 3 club as part of the path to becoming a Sudoer member. The Run level 3 club is a group of contributors who have three articles published on Enable Sysadmin. It is a one-time recognition and accomplishment in our community and we currently have almost 30 people who have achieved this milestone.

Becoming a contributor for Enable Sysadmin

By now, I’m sure some of you are curious about how to achieve Sudoer status. It all starts by sharing your sysadmin stories and experiences. Once you get your first article published on the site, you are on the path toward becoming a Sudoer.

The editorial team is looking for contributors to share their stories and expertise. Our topics range from existing and emerging technology concepts to software, applications, scripting, and programming languages frequently used by system administrators. Of course, common pain points and solutions are welcome topics to help sysadmins perform better in their everyday lives.

How do you become a Sudoer?

This recognition is for site authors who have the greatest impact on the community through consistent contribution. For this program, a Sudoer is defined as an author who has at least 5 articles published in the last 6 months and we review new member eligibility each month.

We welcome you to apply to join the Enable Sysadmin writer community. Our team works with new writers all the time, so don't let that be a barrier to applying. Our goal is to create a thriving community of sysadmins and the next Sudoer member could be you!
