This week, thousands of people will join us at the Boston Convention Center for Red Hat Summit 2019!
One of my favorite parts of Red Hat Summit is our annual Red Hat Women’s Leadership Community Luncheon, and I’m excited to announce that this year Ellen Grant, M.D., director of Fetal and Neonatal Neuroimaging Research at Boston Children’s Hospital and professor of Radiology and Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School, will be joining us for a fireside chat.
This will mark the 10th annual Women’s Leadership Community Luncheon and provide an opportunity for attendees to network with other women in tech using open source technologies to create innovative solutions, and hear inspiring leadership stories.
As director of the Fetal-Neonatal Neuroimaging and Developmental Science Center (FNNDSC) Dr. Grant is focused on the center's purpose, creating the infrastructure and providing the expertise needed to support and foster cutting edge clinical and translational science research involving magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), magnetoencephalography (MEG) and near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) across multiple subspecialties. Her work at the center helps address critical needs in the pediatric population, enabling doctors and researchers to create technology for the unique size and physiology of children’s brains, better predict function in individual children, and provide a safe and sophisticated means of monitoring brain heath.
This isn’t Dr. Grant’s first time at Red Hat Summit. Last year, she joined Jim Whitehurst on the mainstage to discuss Red Hat’s collaboration with Boston Children’s Hospital to deploy the ChRIS Research Integration Service, a web-based medical image platform developed using Red Hat technologies, on the Massachusetts Open Cloud (MOC). In addition to joining us at the Women’s Leadership Community Luncheon, she’ll once again take the keynote stage to share updates on the project with our chief technology officer, Chris Wright.
We invite all Red Hat Summit 2019 attendees to join us for this event and to engage with women in open source.
