2016 Red Hat Innovation Awards Nominations Now Open
Nominations are open for the 2016 Red Hat Innovation Awards! 2016 marks the 10th anniversary of the awards, which recognize the innovative ways that individuals, companies and partners worldwide are implementing Red Hat's technologies. A panel of industry-expert judges will recognize 1 winning project in each of the 6 submission categories. From the category winners, a 2016 Red Hat Innovator of the Year will be selected by the community through online voting and announced during an awards ceremony at the 2016 Red Hat Summit, June 28-July 1 in San Francisco. Submissions will be accepted until December 11, 2015.

The Korea Times - Red Hat eyes app platform leader with Samsung
Red Hat says it will create an unprecedented partnership model with Samsung, a move it has been pushing to provide converged mobile systems at the enterprise level. "Our partnership with Samsung is like the partnership between IBM and Apple, but there are key differences," Red Hat General Manager Bryan Che said... "Apple only supplies the operating system and the ability to adopt applications onto iPhones and iPads. But Red Hat helps you deploy them into Android, and into other devices so you are not locked into just one platform... As part of our partnership, it is primarily Samsung business consultants that are working with us and customers to develop a new mobile application for enterprises."
