Last week, Red Hat’s JBoss team attended JAXconf 2011, organized by S&S Media, to present updates on critical JBoss community projects like Ceylon Language Module and Drools Fusion, as well as provide a sneak preview of JBoss Application Server 7 scheduled for launch later this summer. Capping off the event, the JAX Innovation Awards 2011 were announced on Wednesday evening, where Red Hat won the Most Innovative Java Company award.

With thousands of votes and after undergoing a three month program of nominations, judging and community votes, the Awards were presented on Wednesday by judging panel chair, Sebastian Meyen, and Mark Hazell of organizers S&S Media.

Dan Allen, principal software engineer in Red Hat’s JBoss group, accepted the award on behalf of the company before the JBoss team celebrated the reward for their hard work. All in all, the perfect end to a productive week for Red Hat in the Bay Area – many thanks to our community, end users, partners, and developers who all made this award possible!
