I’ve always enjoyed traveling to Tokyo, Japan, as the people are always so friendly and willing to help. Whether it’s finding my way through the Narita airport or just trying to find a place to eat, they’re always willing to help - even with the language barrier. And each time I visit, I see something new, learn another word (or two) in Japanese, and it all just seems new and exciting all over again. Add in the excitement and buzz of an OpenStack Summit and you’ve got a great week in Tokyo!
Since the official start of the OpenStack Summit is Tuesday, we’re mostly spending the day on Monday setting up and getting ready. The Red Hat team is working diligently to setup the booth, preparing our product demonstrations, and our session speakers are putting the final touches on their presentations.
Tomorrow (Tuesday) morning, Jonathan Bryce will address the crowd for this Fall’s Summit, in what I’m sure will be a great presentation, filled with exciting announcements. Be sure to catch Jonathan’s keynote Tuesday at 9am JP, along with several other keynoters, including Lachlan Evenson, Egle Sigler from Rackspace, and Takuya Ito from Yahoo, who will be sharing their experience with deploying OpenStack at Yahoo Japan.
After the keynotes, be sure to stop by the Red Hat booth P7 to check out our live product demonstrations. We’ll be showing Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform, Red Hat CloudForms hybrid management tool, Red Hat Ceph Storage, and a demonstration of our use of Linux Containers with OpenShift and Atomic Host. We’ll also be sharing with you information about our expert services and upstream community projects, such as RDO. Grab a red ‘hat’ or a t-shirt and share your thoughts on how you think OpenStack can help your business.
Also, if your business is particular to a specific hardware vendor, you’ll be able to find live demonstrations of Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform running at the Dell booth, Cisco Booth, and Intel booth, all running on their respective hardware stacks.
Finally, you can expect a full day of general sessions on Tuesday. Be sure to check out some of the Red Hat sessions you might be interested in. Here’s a lineup of what you can expect tomorrow:
