In order to better serve our Red Hat Academy educational institutions around the world, the Red Hat Academy team has launched an enhanced learning environment on Sept. 1, 2020. With a new interface and improved user experience, students and instructors will be able to more easily navigate their courses, access supplemental learning materials, track course progress, and interact and engage with one another more effectively.
The Red Hat Academy program partners with academic institutions to offer education programs on Red Hat technologies to help students reach their academic and career potential. Red Hat Academy’s curriculum involves hands-on instruction across platform, middleware, and cloud technologies built with input from Red Hat development, support, and field consulting teams.
The new Red Hat Academy Learning Platform provides easier navigation for administrators, instructors and students, and has been optimized based on feedback from current users on the previous portal's design. It allows instructors enhanced ease and flexibility in creating new classes, tracking student progress, consuming online training content, and communicating with their students. Academy Administrators and instructors will also be able to utilize the new system as a classroom management tool to track course consumption, manage classes, build quizzes, grade assignments, communicate with students, and view overall progress. All users will also be able to see current Red Hat Academy news, upcoming events and updates about our program and platform.
New features available in the enhanced learning environment
In addition to access to all courses within our portfolio, academies receive:
-
Free instructor training
-
Discounted certification and preliminary exams
-
Access to learning paths, case studies, webinars
-
Single sign on into cloud lab partnerships
The new Red Hat Academy platform directly syncs with the Red Hat Learning Community, giving users real-time news, events, information and interactions from their own homepage.
In addition to the new user features, the platform provides new ways for instructors to interact with their students. Our instructors are now able to alert students directly through the portal, via in-system notifications, about upcoming assignments, reminders, and other information. Additionally, instructors are able to engage with their students through the Red Hat Learning Community by viewing and responding to posts.
Getting started on the new platform
For Administrators and instructors
During the migration period, Academy Administrators received an email which included your account and login information. Once logged in, you will be directed to add additional instructors who will be teaching Red Hat courses at your institution.
If you have not received an email, please contact your Red Hat Academy Regional Manager. Academy Administrators are responsible for adding and managing Red Hat Academy instructors at your institution. Once added to the learning platform, each new instructor will receive a welcome email to verify their account and can then create new classes. If you do not receive your welcome email, please contact your Red Hat Academy Administrator.
For students
The instructor teaching your upcoming Red Hat Academy course will add you to their class, which will deliver a welcome email to your email address. If you do not receive your migration email, please contact your course instructor.
