Next week we will be at GEOINT 2015 in Washington, D.C., showcasing technologies to help make geospatial systems more secure, mobile, and container-ready. We've long been committed to the geospatial intelligence space, collaborating with partners and customers to bring open source innovation to geo-intelligence initiatives for more than a decade.

Here are just a few of the recent initiatives you can expect to hear about if you are at GEOINT next week:

  • We collaborated with a major systems integrator and vendors to serve as the operating platform backbone for a multi-level security (MLS) solution supporting a high-performance computing (HPC) environment. We will highlight this MLS solution demo at GEOINT, highlighting the multiple levels of security that must be respected by the systems in place in such an environment. Red Hat Enterprise Linux enables users and data of different security levels to share the same resources. The solution also required a resource scheduler capable of operating in a MLS or cross-domain Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment to provide flexibility in managing jobs and accounting information.

  • We will also demonstrate JBoss xPaaS services for OpenShift. With JBoss xPaaS services for OpenShift, we are delivering a rich set of enterprise application, integration and business process automation capabilities and services in an extensible open Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) platform, and are working to enable accelerated development and deployment of next-generation enterprise applications and business processes in the cloud. We will demonstrate how application containers, cluster management, and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery can fundamentally change geo-intelligence application development and infrastructure hosting. With JBoss xPaaS services for OpenShift, developers can build geo-intelligence applications in any language using any toolchain, and administrators can host these containers everywhere Red Hat Enterprise Linux runs, including both IC Information Technology Enterprise (ICITE) clouds and datacenters.

  • We also collaborated with a video analysis provider to help make sense of thousands of hours of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) video content, automating the routing and transformation of geo-intelligence content with Red Hat JBoss Fuse and Red Hat JBoss A-MQ. During GEOINT 2015, we will show how this content can be containerized in a PaaS environment for use by numerous analysts, taking advantage of the elastic benefits of ICITE clouds to support analytic surges.

  • We will share how our award-winning Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offering, Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform, is being used by a geo-intelligence partner to create a virtual mobile infrastructure. As more geo-intelligence applications are created for both classified and unclassified environments, Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform can serve as a single architecture for thin-client mobile solutions.
