The Storage Developer Conference (SDC) takes place this week, 9/15 - 9/18, in lovely Santa Clara, CA, and Red Hat Storage is getting geared up in a big way. The SDC is hosted by the Storage Network Industry Association (SNIA) and is a gathering of developers working on storage-related technologies. Everyone from storage software and hardware developers, product and solution architects, to storage software engineers will be in attendance. A full conference agenda of this week's keynotes, birds-of-a-feather and breakout sessions can be found here.
And as usual, they will be hosting the associated SMB2/SMB3 Plugfest where we will are bringing Red Hat Storage and Red Hat Enterprise Linux to test, identify and fix bugs in a collaborative setting with the goal of providing a forum in which companies can develop interoperable products. The participants of the Plugfest work together to define the testing process, assuring that objectives are accomplished.
But what really got us excited this year is that our own Ric Wheeler, Director of Red Hat Storage Engineering, gave the general session keynote on Tuesday, 9/16 at 9:00 a.m. entitled Software Defined Storage: Changing the Rules for Storage Architects.
We hope you have a chance to stop by and visit us at the conference this week.
