This past August, Red Hat announced the availability of Red Hat Virtualization 4.0, the latest virtualization release that aims to help IT organizations modernize their infrastructure, enhance their virtualization management and automation, and deploy advanced networking functionality. As a Software Engineer, I know that releases are exciting and early adopter customers eagerly await for the opportunity to deploy the latest features. However, the the upgrade process has not always been seamless. Through my work with the Customer Support Team, we have been exploring tools to streamline and simplify the upgrade process.
Today, I am excited to announce the availability of the Red Hat Virtualization Upgrade Tool: Red Hat Virtualization Upgrade Helper. This tool simplifies the update process from any 3.0+ environment to Red Hat Virtualization (RHV) 4.0. This tool is designed to help you upgrade your RHV environment to a newer version. It includes recommended steps to take while upgrading and it outlines known issues in an easy format. Furthermore, through a series of simple questions, the tool displays specific information that is applicable to your unique environment.
Try out the tool today. If you are not a current Red Hat Virtualization customer, I invite you to download our fully supported 60-day eval to learn how Red Hat Virtualization propels your organization’s innovation forward.
