Ansible – A global and Versatile Automation Tool​

Today’s IT requirements need more automation and traceability and tools such as Ansible have made it their task to make these goals easy to reach. In this presentation, we will show how we use Ansible to automate complex IT processes in a global IT environment and thereby reduce the error rate, increase agility and quality and fulfill the business requirements in a highly regulated industry. The experience gained from this project is an example of how heterogeneous enterprise environments can benefit from Ansible and what the key findings of a large Ansible project are.

Rob has over 15 years of experience spanning automation and cloud technologies. Rob has a passion for automation and seeing customers maximise their value from the solutions that they deploy. In order to help customers drive transformation Rob encourages businesses to understand their true current state. With this consultative approach customers are then able to put in place the correct plans for technology, people and governance, increasing their success rates and returning value faster. Home for Rob is in Oxfordshire, UK where he lives with his wife, three daughters and a rather large dog. A keen photographer and bbq'er, Rob loves to spend time with his family enjoying the great outdoors.

Eduard has more than 20 years experience in the IT and telecommunication industry. In his various roles he was in Charge of Innovation Management, VP Global Business and VP Product Management for several companies including Sun Microsystems, PwC Consulting and Swisscom.

Roland Wolters,
Senior Solution Architect, Red Hat

Roland Wolters is Product Manager for Ansible in EMEA. As such he is responsible for the representation, communication and further development of Ansible inside and outside of Red Hat. With over 10 years of experience in the Open Source business his focus is on the real world problems customers are facing, and how to approach them in a sustained way. He started his career as a consultant, quickly became project manager and later joined Red Hat as a solution architect in 2015.

Sacha Dubois
Senior Solution Architect, Red Hat

Since 25 years is Sacha Dubois passionated in IT technology software development and engineering. At Red Hat he is in the role as Senior Solution Architect responsible for infrastructure products, such as RHEL, Storage, OpenStack, OpenShift and covers topics such as IoT, Cloud Management and Automation, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Container Management.

Lukas Grossar
Senior System Engineer, Adfinis SyGroup AG

Lukas Grossar completed his studies in the area of High Performance Computing and since then has focused on topics regarding FOSS and Linux. At Adfinis SyGroup AG he's working on container technologies, automation and cloud engineering.
Lukas always keeps an eye on new technologies and is a distinguished Ansible expert with a deep insight not only into Ansible itself but also the many technologies you can manage with it.

Nicolas Christener
CEO, CTO, Adfinis SyGroup AG

Nicolas Christener is CEO, CTO and member of the Board of Directors of Adfinis SyGroup AG. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of CH Open since 2013. In his spare time Nicolas contributes to various open source projects. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Entertainment Media Group AG and Medelexis and he is also a member of the Supervisory Board of Web Media Publishing AG in Munich.

Christian Sanabria
Principal Consultant, ipt – Innovation Process Technology

Christian Sanabria works as Principal Architect at ipt and has almost 20 years of experience in all aspects of software engineering and architecture. At ipt Christian is mostly working in Integration, API Security and Management as well as Continuous Delivery and DevOps. He is specialized in Cloud and Container technologies, especially with Openshift and 3Scale. Additionally, he is responsible for the Red Hat Partner Management at ipt.
