2017 Red Hat North American Training Partner and Instructor Conference

We’re excited to host the 2017 Red Hat North American Training Partner and Instructor Conference, September 6-7, at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino.

This year we're introducing an exciting new format to address attendees in a more targeted fashion. We're introducing new topic sessions, more focus group sessions, and guest speakers. We're also welcoming Red Hat Academy instructors to the festivities.

Sessions at this year’s conference are published roughly 60 days prior to the start of the conference. Here's a sneak peek into our September 6 & 7 sessions:

Morning general sessions: These general sessions will feature Red Hat Training + Certification Leadership. Also, for the first time, we'll feature presentations from guest speakers. More details on the guest speakers to come.

Afternoon training partners breakout sessions: These breakout sessions for training partners will consist of best practices for sales, sales enablement, marketing, and the Red Hat® Learning Subscription.

(NEW) Afternoon training partner focus group sessions: The partner focus groups will consist of short, 15- to 20-minute presentations on training and certification topics featuring presentations from Red Hat Sales, Red Hat Marketing, and Red Hat partners. More Details to come.

Afternoon instructor breakout sessions: These sessions will consist of presentations on a variety of instructor training topics including emerging technologies, classroom set-up best practices, customer surveys, and courseware roadmaps. Both Red Hat Training & Red Hat Academy instructors should attend.

(NEW) Afternoon Red Hat Academy focus group sessions: The Red Hat Academy focus groups will consist of presentations from the Red Hat Curriculum & Academy team to focus on classroom best practices & Red Hat emerging technologies. More details to come.

Ken Goetz
Ken Goetz
Ken Goetz is Vice President of Global Learning Services at Red Hat, where he is responsible for building a community of outstanding and enthusiastic users of Red Hat products. Prior to Red Hat, Ken held many different roles in the IT education industry, including selling training, teaching classes, developing content, and managing back-office functions globally. He built and implemented a number of education programs from scratch and pioneered innovative solutions to grow the adoption of new learning formats and modalities. At Oracle, Ken led the integration of over 80 different acquired training businesses spanning the full spectrum of the technology stack, including SaaS and on-premise horizontal/vertical applications, hardware solutions, and middleware/database/cloud technologies. Ken lives in Raleigh, North Carolina and is a two-time Ironman triathlete. He received his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Ralph Rodriguez
Ralph Rodriguez
Ralph Rodriguez is a fourteen-year Red Hat employee. He has worked in virtually all areas of the training business at Red Hat including instruction, certification administration and development, curriculum development, and North American regional management. Currently, he is senior manager for Training in North America and he leads the global Training Quality Management Team.
Pete Hnath
Pete Hnath
Pete Hnath holds the title of Senior Director of Curriculum Development for Red Hat and is responsible for over 30 courses in the product portfolio. Key projects he's led include the roll-out of a comprehensive curriculum development process, restructuring the coursebooks to be adult learning centered, and the creation of an open source based virtual training platform. His team recently launched Red Hat Online Learning, an innovative, hands-on, self-paced training program running in the Amazon cloud. Previously, Mr. Hnath co-founded Red Hat University and led the creation of Red Hat's Sales College. In this position, he launched a 40+ hour elearning curriculum and sales certification program. Earlier in his ten-year Red Hat career, he led the company's partner marketing efforts. Mr. Hnath holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Florida.
Randy Russell
Randy Russell
Randy Russell is the Senior Director of Certification at Red Hat. He has overseen the development of the industry-leading Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) and Red Hat Certified Technician (RHCT) performance-based exams, as well as the performance-based Certificates of Expertise exams that lead to the Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA), Red Hat Certified Security Specialist (RHCSS), and Red Hat Datacenter Specialist (RHCDS) credentials. He also oversaw the development of Red Hat's training curriculum until 2007, at which time he had the opportunity to focus on certification. Prior to joining Red Hat in 1999, Randy was a system administrator, programmer, and economist at an environmental economics consulting firm.

Karl is Red Hat's Senior Director of Training for North America. He manages all aspects of the training business in the United States and Canada. Karl has nearly 20 years of IT training experience. In his career, he has delivered, developed, sold, and managed a variety of training programs. Karl is a graduate of Virginia Tech.
Lee Toderick headshot
Lee Toderick
As a Red Hat Certified Instructor, Lee Toderick has been a partner to Red Hat Academy (RHA) for over 10 years, with experience teaching RHA courses, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, EMC Information and Storage Management and Cloud Infrastructure Services, and Information Assurance Technologies at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. Earning a BS in Computer Science from East Carolina University and a MS in Computer Information Systems from Boston University, Lee has shared his knowledge through co-authoring several academic papers on remote lab technologies and virtualization, authored Cisco Network Academy CCNA/CCNP curriculum and labs (Eagle Server), and is a Linux consultant. His professional certifications include Network+, CCNA/CCNP, CCDA/CCDP, RHCE, EMCISM Professional, and Linux+.

Jay Keller
Jay Keller is a seven year Red Hat veteran and is the team lead of the Public Sector System Integrator Sell-To Team. Federal System Integrators have historically been large consumers of Red Hat's training offerings, including Red Hat Learning Subscription. Jay's team is responsible for proliferating training across their customer base to help them apply their knowledge to running these large corporations as well as capturing and executing successful government programs. Prior to joining Red Hat in 2010, Jay was a certified capture team lead at Boeing Defense, Space, and Security, leading major Navy and Marine Corps C4ISR capture efforts. He is also a Navy veteran, serving in the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography community. Jay holds a BA in Information Systems and Decision Sciences as well as a MBA in Information Systems from California State University, Fullerton.
