Introducing the Red Hat Universal Base Image – the easier way to share containerised applications

Watch recording from November 13, 2019

A webinar created and hosted by Red Hat exclusively for Nokia

Containers offer a lighter-weight version of the Linux operating system's userland. Yes, it's stripped down to the bare essentials, but it's still an operating system, making the quality of a container just as important as the host operating system.

Running Red Hat Enterprise Linux container images on Red Hat Enterprise Linux container hosts offers compatibility and portability between environments, not to mention familiarity. But there's just one problem: you can't easily share them with others, not even with other Red Hat users.

Good news! That's all changed.

In a Nokia-exclusive webinar, we introduce the Red Hat Universal Base Image (UBI). Now you can take advantage of the greater reliability, security and performance of official Red Hat container images wherever Open Container Initiative-compliant Linux containers run.

This means you can build a containerized application on UBI, push it to a container registry server of your choosing, and share it. The Red Hat Universal Base Image allows you to build, share, run and collaborate on your containerized application wherever you want.

This new, one-hour webinar is presented by Red Hat's Ivan Bodunov, Senior Solution Architect, and hosted by Eric Lajoie, Senior Solution Architect. They invite you to join them.

Both Ivan and Eric will be available for Q&A before the webinar closes.
