Modern continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline for traditional provisioning

Watch recording from September 10, 2019

Organizations often face challenges related to provisioning and managing virtual resources. Fulfilling new service requests requires long, manual processes that consume excessive time and resources. In addition, ongoing management requires IT personnel to commit the majority of their time on management tasks that offer little differentiating value to the business. Without consistent processes and standards in place, bottlenecks result from disparate approvals and human error. A provisioning, management, and retirement strategy, in combination with workflow automation and continuous integration and continuous delivery, is critical to ensure accuracy of the service request process, improve agility, and accelerate time to market.

During this webinar, we will demonstrate the testing of end-to-end virtual machine (VM) provision request using Red Hat CloudForms®, Red Hat Ansible® Automation, Jenkins, and GitHub—ensuring the code is accurate and free of errors prior to delivery. You will see how to:

  • Manage existing codebase and develop new code
  • Track code changes throughout the life cycle of the automated provisioning process
  • Review changes for accuracy, approve these changes, and automatically test approved changes
  • Deliver provisioning code into production environments in minutes—not days or weeks—without manual intervention
