Red Hat locations in North America
From Raleigh to Westford, Mountain View to Atlanta, Red Hat is investing heavily in sales and engineering as we bring open source middleware, storage, virtualization, and cloud computing further into the mainstream. Over the years, companies like NYSE Euronext, DreamWorks Animation, and Verizon have come to rely on Red Hat.
Red Hat may be headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, but there are more than 20 other offices in North America, plus many remote employees stretching from the East coast to Hawaii.
Raleigh, North Carolina
Our corporate headquarters is located at Red Hat Tower in downtown Raleigh, NC. The Raleigh office handles a lot of things. Engineering and support, of course—we're a technology company, after all—but there are a number of other important roles in this office. From Finance to the People team, Facilities to Marketing, our Raleigh office helps make day-to-day business possible.
Raleigh Red Hatters are a fun and active crowd. With a runners club, group bike rides, and a soccer team, there's always something to do on your lunch hour or after work. Whether you want tips on selecting beer from one of several office brew-masters or a formidable table tennis opponent, making friends is easy at our Raleigh headquarters.
The Raleigh office has received many awards, including Best Places to Work in the Triangle (2009, 2011, 2012) and Healthiest Employers of the Triangle (2011) by the Triangle Business Journal.
The greater Raleigh area has also received numerous accolades over the last decade, from "#1 Best Place to Live" by Money magazine to "#4 Best City for Singles" by Forbes. Situated a few hours from both the Atlantic coast and Appalachian mountain range, there's always somewhere new to go for the weekend.
Our engineering headquarters is located in Westford, MA, part of the greater Boston area. This is where Red Hat engineers collaborate on the direction and implementation of our open source technologies.
The newly constructed office is a 75,000 square foot facility in Westford Technology Park West, a short walk from miles of hiking trails within the 420-acre Massachusetts Audubon Society Nashoba Brook preserve. The Westford office is in close proximity to Nashoba Valley Ski resort, two airports, numerous prestigious universities, and hundreds of technology companies.
Red Hat Westford offers an on-site cafeteria (with Star Wars pinball machine) and fitness facility, plus regularly scheduled visits from a nutritionist and a massage therapist. Its full-size bike lockers are much appreciated by the sizable Red Hat cyclist community.
Convenient to I-495, the Westford office finds its roots in the area's rich technology heritage and has retained an engineer-focused culture. You'll see plenty of hiking shorts and socks-with-sandals mixed in with the business casual crowd, as well as Linux kernel and JBoss code engraved on the glass walls of conference rooms. On the second floor, a six foot high tiki god statue keeps watch over the copier room.
In our largest hardware testing ground, Westford engineers solidify and certify our products on the machines of tomorrow, as well provide continued support for more legacy systems.
With friendships that extend across departments, access to bleeding edge machines, and famed engineers willing to mentor, this team is full of people who love their jobs and believe in what they do. There are smart people everywhere, and the answer to any question is usually just a short walk away.
Red Hat's Tyson's Corner office in McLean, VA is only 15 miles outside the heart of the nation's capital, Washington DC. The Tyson's Corner area is the 12th largest business district in the US.
The Tyson's Corner team focuses primarily on the Federal government. Red Hatters in sales and marketing collaborate with our open source solutions architects to bring more security, reliability, and flexibility into public sector datacenters.
Mountain View, California
Red Hat's presence in the San Francisco area has been expanding quite a bit recently, where we were recently named the #2 Top Bay Area Employer. Mountain View, located in the heart of the famed Silicon Valley, is home to a growing number of engineers and salespeople, plus many of the largest tech companies in the world. Getting to the Red Hat office is easy, thanks to its location near the Caltrain and VTA stops. It's especially easy to spot the Red Hat office—it's the tallest building on Castro Street, which gives Red Hatters a fantastic view of Silicon Valley.
The associates in our Mountain View office are as eclectic as the area, functioning as a small community that cares deeply about environmental issues and wellness. With such amenities as on-site showers, a wide-range of workspaces and floorplans, and a broad range of snacks, foods, and drinks, the Mountain View office is a welcome place for associates and visitors alike.
