Red Hat has been building and supporting network infrastructure since its inception, first with Red Hat® Enterprise Linux®, then with Red Hat OpenStack®, Red Hat OpenShift®, and Red Hat Ansible® Automation Platform.

Software-defined networking with Kubernetes

The software-defined networking (SDN) approach of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform provides a unified cluster network that enables communications across the cluster. In addition, it incorporates built-in DNS and many other features that make OpenShift networks highly configurable and stable with good performance.

Network automation

Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, together with partner technologies, help you build, monitor, and manage a modern network infrastructure so teams can quickly respond to dynamic needs for capacity, application security, load balancing, and multicloud integrations. They can also implement self-service and on-demand network activities to support modern business demands. Ansible includes hundreds of network modules to support a wide variety of network device vendors.

OpenStack networking

The Red Hat OpenStack Networking (neutron) component provides the application programming interface (API) for virtual networking capabilities and includes switches, routers, and firewalls.
