Red Hat Summit 2014 will not only be the largest gathering of Red Hat customers, partners and associates this year, but it will also be a chance for people to donate their time to a couple of great causes.

At Red Hat Summit 2014, attendees and their guests can enter the Red Hat “Philanthropy Zone” and offer much-needed support for families and children in San Francisco and throughout the world by participating in:

  • The preparation of more than 700 different kits for new home, cleaning, toiletries, newborn babies and employment for Hamilton Family Center, which provides support for homeless families and individuals in San Francisco.

  • The creation of 500 “Promise Packs” for World Vision. Promise Packs are backpacks filled with school supplies, insect repellant, and personal care items, and are provided to orphans and at-risk children around the world.

Attendees who would like to volunteer can do so April 15 and 16, 2014, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. PDT, in the South Concourse on the lower level of the Moscone Center. Volunteers are encouraged to participate for as long as they like during the aforementioned hours.

This is part of Red Hat’s ongoing commitment to give back to the communities where we live, work and play. We hope you’ll join us in this effort at Red Hat Summit 2014!
